"Countless lives have been touched by Tom and the lakes area communities are a better place because of his generous nature, and we are honored to have him as the recipient of the 2024 Award in Philanthropy honoree," Terri Foster, executive director of the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation, says in a press release.
Thomas Anderson is "the epitome of a philanthropist, and we couldn't be more grateful for his generosity, of not only his treasure but something even more valuable, his time," Foster says.
The foundation, which has awarded more than $10 million in grants to nonprofits since 1998, calls Anderson a "passionate entrepreneur" who's focused on business mentorship, among other things, the Star Tribune reports.
"When a community comes together and focuses on helping one another, it can catalyze an entire community to create lasting positive change," Foster says.
