If you've never given to a charity before, September will be your lucky month.
That's because the Community Foundation Herkimer and Oneida Counties in upstate New York will be holding its first-ever Mohawk Valley Gives day of giving on Sept. 23, reports the Syracuse Post-Standard.
The idea is for residents and businesses in the region to donate to local nonprofits all day long.
"We want to encourage nonprofits make most of this opportunity, and our team will be there along the way," says Alicia Fernandez Dicks, CEO of the Community Foundation.
"Building greater community generosity is at the heart of what we do."
