The Lincoln Community Foundation presented its annual Charity Award to the entire Lincoln community. The award recognizes individuals for their leadership and philanthropy throughout the year.
This year due to the unprecedented collective community response to the COVID-19 crisis, including health care professionals, families, neighborhoods, businesses, educators and City of Lincoln employees, the award is bestowed on the entire community.
The community foundation set a record for the donations and the number of gifts with $21.1 million granted to 1,184 nonprofit organizations, in additon $2.2 million was distributed for programs, including CARES Act funding for those who needed support more than ever.
