The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a new IT director, and he's a guy with a penchant for technology.
Milton Sand was named director of Information Technology Services last month for the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, reports the Salt Lake Tribune.
"I believe technology is going to be used to spread the gospel everywhere, [unhindered by] territories, boundaries, languages, or cultures," says Sand, who grew up in Argentina and moved to Michigan to study English at Andrews Academy.
"In this new digital world, the church needs to come together and strategically use technology to reach every soul with our message of hope and wholeness.
I can't wait to see how the Lord will bless and multiply our efforts."
Another new IT director is Michael J.
Brown, who was named director of Philanthropic Service for Institutions on Dec.
11.
"I am most thankful for the opportunity to help philanthropic hearts connect with institutional partners that facilitate people helping other people," says Brown, who has an MBA in marketing and finance from Tulane University and a B.A.
in math and computer science from Oakwood University.
