Quebec City's Mus ? 'e des beaux-arts du Qu'bec museum is getting a major boost from a single man.

Michael Audain, chairman of the Jean Paul Riopelle Foundation, has pledged $10 million toward the museum's Espace Riopelle pavilion, which will be built on the museum's campus in the heart of the city, the CBC reports.

The pavilion, which is expected to open in 2026, "will be the new jewel in the museum complex, and to its educational project," Mus ? 'e des beaux-arts du Qu'bec says in a press release.

Audain, who also co-founded the foundation, says in a statement that he is "proud to be contributing to the construction of the Espace Riopelle pavilion and to the MNBAQ works by the reputed artist to enrich its collection."

The press release notes that the generosity of Audain and other donors has helped Mus ? 'e des beaux-arts du Qu'bec reach "a turning point in its history by making an exceptional contribution to any major project focusing on the MNBAQ's growth."
