Eric Paradis Plays His Part in a Big Way

When Eric Paradis was cast in a show at Your Theatre in New Bedford, Mass., 20 years ago, "my 18 profound words in that show really compelled me to become more involved in the organization," he tells the New Bedford Light.

He's since directed or acted in more than 30 productions, "and then it went to 'Hey, let's help build a set,'' because I like stagecraft."

That led Paradis to become a business leader in the city, where he currently owns a holistic financial planning and investments firm.

But his passion for the arts didn't stop there.

In 2012, Paradis founded the New Bedford Jazz Fest, an annual event held downtown that has since moved to the Steeple Playhouse, where it will continue to be held this summer.

He's also helped the New Bedford Creative Consortium and the AHA! Night Steering Committee with the creation and implementation of the city's 10-year Arts & Culture Plan.

He's also been on the board of Your Theatre, where he's served on the board of directors, as well as with the New Bedford Film Festival and the New Bedford Festival Theatre.
