Ieee Educational Video for Kids Spotlights Climate Change

"When we work together, we can change the global environment."

That's the message behind a new educational video from the Institute of Technology's TryEngineering program, which has teamed up with the Museum of Science in Boston to spread the word about the dangers of climate change, CNET reports.

"Since the industrial revolution, humans have been digging up fossil fuels and burning them, which releases CO2 into the atmosphere in unprecedented quantities," the video says.

"In the past 60 years, atmospheric carbon dioxide increased at a rate 100 times faster than previous natural changes."

The museum, one of the world's largest science centers, reached nearly 5 million people annually through its physical location, nearby classrooms, and online platforms, IEEE notes.

"We are excited to partner with the Museum of Science to bring even more awareness and exposure of this important issue to the school setting," says the director of IEEE's student and academic education programs.
