The Norfolk Public Schools Board of Education is looking for a new member.

The Omaha World-Herald reports the six-person board will meet Monday to select three finalists: Leonor Fuhrer, Soshia Bohn, and Tom Stanton.

Fuhrer is a community volunteer who has five children in the NPS district.

Bohn is a men's dual disorder program therapist at a behavioral health organization in Norfolk.

She says being a parent gives her "invaluable insights and expertise crucial" to the board, as well as a "deep understanding" of the many factors affecting learning and well-being in schools.

Stanton is a mental health professional who leads his own practice.

He says his work and educational history "provide a unique combination of experience that would allow me to serve not only the board, but the constituents of the district in a positive and well-informed manner."

His motivation for serving on the board stems from ensuring Norfolk has a "strong and positive" public school system.
