"These new Floridians are not bringing their health care providers with them," Florida Senate President Kathleen Passidomo said as she signed into law a "Live Healthy" agenda aimed at increasing the state's health care workforce, expanding access to health care, and helping Floridians with disabilities, per a press release.

Gov.

Ron DeSantis echoed Passidomo's sentiments, noting the "broad appeal of the free state of Florida continues to attract families, businesses, and seniors," and that the "Live Healthy" agenda "will grow the health care workforce we need to serve our communities, increase access, and incentivize innovation, so Floridians can have more options and opportunities to live healthy."

Among other things, Live Healthy will incentivize Florida-trained health care workers to serve in fields such as mental health, labor and delivery, and helping Floridians with disabilities, per the release.

It will also increase access to health care, with an emphasis on connecting Floridians with primary care providers, while boosting the number of medical residency slots to increase the number of physicians in the state, as well as increasing the number of dental assistant students and nursing students who meet performance metrics, per the Florida Times-Union.
