Students in one Wisconsin school district got a taste of what it's like to work in the real world last week when a three-story-high replica of a model airplane crashed into a pond and caught fire, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.
The plane was on display at the Elmbrook Education Foundation's second annual Explore STEAM event, where students explored science, technology, engineering, arts, and math at more than a dozen stations, according to a press release.
"It was great to see families interacting together and to watch people sincerely interested in the various exhibits," says a volunteer who helped with the event.
"I'm already looking forward to next year's STEAM event!"
