"No one should go hungry in our county, in our country, or in our world."
That's the message from the CEO of Loudoun County, Va., food pantry Loudoun Hunger Relief after it was named Nonprofit Achievement Wward of the Year by the Community Foundation of Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties, the Washington Post reports.
"Thank you so much for caring about the community and thank you for caring that our neighbors have enough to eat because no one should go hungry in our county, in our country, or in our world," Jennifer Montgomery said at the foundation's first awards gala on Nov.
17.
Karen Schaufeld was named Philanthropist of the Year, Angela Mitchell the Changemaker of the Year, and the food pantry won the award.
Mitchell, president and CEO of ARM Consulting, is a leader in advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the community.
"As we continue to talk to these conversations and make things better for our community, I am confident that together we are stronger together," she said.
