The Cincinnati Reds have been named as a finalist for Major League Baseball's 2023 Allan H.

Selig Award for Philanthropic Excellence, which recognizes the charitable and philanthropic efforts of MLB clubs.

The Reds were chosen for the Reds Community Fund's Community Makeover initiative.

The annual Community Makeover brings together some of Cincinnati's most iconic institutions, including P&G, the Cincinnati Zoo, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, GE Aerospace, and the United Way of Greater Cincinnati to make a sustainable impact on a local neighborhood while strengthening youth baseball and softball programs.

The Reds submission for the award is based on the 2022 Community Makeover that featured six project sites in the Village of Lincoln Heights and included a new solar-powered STEM lab at Lincoln Heights Elementary, a renovated Memorial Field, plus improvements at the Lincoln Heights Health Center, St.

Monica's Recreation Center, and Serenity Park.

Since 2010, the Community Makeover has invested over $10 million and countless volunteer hours into some of Greater Cincinnati's neediest communities.

Fans are encouraged to vote for the Reds at MLB.com/Selig-Award.Voting for the 2023 Selig Award runs until October 23, 2023.

The winner will be announced at the MLB Winter Meetings in December.
